Who is worse, the dems or repubs?
I may have to wait a while to see. I know between 2002 and 2006 when I use to speak against the Patriot Act (another deceiving name), the Iraq war, torture and things like that the stuff I got back from some of the Republicans lacked substance and seemed to be one liners that were easily countered with one logical statement, and then they wouldn’t continue with that but either came up with another one that was as bad or they started insulting me, a sure sign they can’t argue their case.
But now I’m starting to think some of the people supporting Obama care might be as bad or worse. Time will tell I guess the next time the puppet is a Republican.
For now here are some of the things people are saying who support Obamacare and here are my responses. Please feel free to use them, especially if you can’t think of one better.
If you do have some of your own leave a comment below.
So these are defenses or general comments made to counter objections to the ACA.
whatever….you pay taxes that kill…why not taxes to heal?
Two wrongs don’t make a right. I am against them taking my money and using it for war, for arresting herb users, for ACA and much more. People need to consider this, this government people are expecting to do good is the Government that HAS been taking our money and starting unjust wars KILLING for many years before this, why on earth would anyone entrust them with healing? That makes it even worse, wanting this gov to take my money against my will to heal when they are the ones that kill. Judging by the fruit of the tree I’d say we are in trouble, we are going to get poison fruit.
Really, pointing to more wrongs to justify it? Isn’t there other things we should look at to decide?
In Canada we all USE healthcare, and we all pay for healthcare through taxes. People don’t have to go into bankruptcy when they get sick. It balances out and NO-ONE is denied coverage. Tell me how that is a bad system?
First off how you can you say everyone uses it? Maybe it boils down to this, if you are stuck a slave in an unfree system then sure, be happy with or hope that better care is granted, but in a supposed free country freedom is having the choice to choose without a guarantee of a certain level of this or that. That is the cost of freedom, we are suppose to be the example of a free country, that is one where you can choose and make your future as long as you don’t hinder others from the same. Forcing someone to buy insurance has no place in this country and whether you can find a good shred of something in it or not shouldn’t have any bearing. I personally haven’t used health insurance or this medical system in over 6 years because I don’t agree with their treatment most of the time and I think insurance is an illogical concept. If one does the math one will see it can only cost the users of it more money because someone has to pay for the Insurance companies expenses. So to force me to pay for something I don’t like has ZERO place in a free country… It’s just that simple. We are not the country that is suppose to be becoming like other less free countries. We are the country that is suppose to be the example of the first country with free people in it.
Also, another approach to that could be.
You don’t judge a few outside signs to determine the whole. I use to use this one when someone would say “look, Iraq has better X than before”. If we look and say “wow, that house down the end is looking nicer on the outside, the steps are swept and look the kids are leaving for school on time for once. What is wrong with that?” Nothing, however, two days ago the man of the house was Mike. This big guy Jim broke in, killed Mike and took over the house. He treats the women and children as his property. Do you still see nothing wrong? Pointing to a few good things while in total ignorance of such atrocities should be considered sinful. So stop saying stuff like, “look, one kid may get a vaccine that didn’t get it before” without considering how is it achieved, that is insulting to us other humans.
Isn’t every American entitled to Roosevelt’s four freedoms? Especially the last two freedom from want and freedom from fear. Fear of financial ruin if faced with a catastrophic injury or illness because they had no access to preventive care or health insurance.
First a rant before I show how I answered.
This kinda strikes me as odd, sorta like someone pulling from straws, someone reaching deep within for the propaganda that was used to get them into what they are into. First off they are against my freedom and liberty to be in charge of my life, they want to force me to use my money to buy insurance. (more on insurance at the end) That is the freedom we gained when we won our independence from the King. They instead though think we should be entitled to Roosevelts’ freedom from fear and freedom from want. What the hell does that mean? It sounds almost impossible, it sounds like an empty promise, it sounds like something someone believes who is joining a religious cult. If we had want and fear removed we might be zombies. Maybe that’s what I’m missing, get made into a zombie and you will be free from fear and want. I don’t know, but here is what I replied with .
Why don’t you instead get an understanding of liberty and freedom. You have a right to be in charge of yourself, that is your natural right. You don’t have a right to have everything perfect. How can you stand here talking about having a right to be free from want when you deny them the choice to do with their money what they want yet you want us to believe the government can do anything it wants to make us free from want? That sounds like something out of a cartoon. What the hell does that even mean? You’ve been using the FEAR of illness as a means to justify Obamacare. I agree it would be nice to be FREE from someone forcing me to buy something based on FEAR of something happening in the future, but truth be known if our individual Liberties as establish by the Declaration of Independence by winning the war was still observed there would be no need for FDR’s. This is just wrong, you deny the liberty established by the founding of this country but think the government can make you free from want and fear? What does that even mean, Free from want. That sounds like something that would never end up being met, it is almost like giving the government a free license to do whatever forever in an attempt to achieve the impossible, freedom from want. Is it even possible to make everyone free from want? free from fear? People get into religions thinking they may be free from want or fear, I had no idea the government could do this. TRUE freedom is more the choice to do what you want as long as it doesn’t hinder someone else from the same. Coming up with and impossible and violating peoples freedom to get the impossible once again reminds me of a Snake Oil Salesman.
Insurance is illogical
Do the math. You have people needing care and you have the place/people giving care needing compensation. Let’s keep the numbers low and simple for ease. You have 100 people who average $100 of care a year. That’s 100 people who needed to pay the health industry $100 each for care. That means those 100 people paid $10,000 to the medical industry. What happens if we decide to create an insurance co for this. Okay, we’ve hired a few people, put them up in an average office, pay them an average wage and we are off. Let’s say this company isn’t even going to make a profit. Okay, so what would happen if all things were the same but now they all have this insurance company. 100 people needing $100 each of care. The new insurance company pays the medical people/places the $10,000. Cool, doing their books they have that expense (10,000), the expense of office rent(10), electricity (10), internet(10) and paychecks(10). That’s $10,040. Okay, so this company will at least break even, forget about a profit for now. So they figure that each of their 100 customers must pay $100.40 Oh wow, it now cost everyone more money than it did before. Insurance adds to the cost of the simple transaction of people needing care and those giving the care being paid. Why would people pay into this? On average or as a whole they will pay more, and probably much more than the example if they have insurance. Oh, they hope that they pay less than what they use and I guess they hope others pay more than they use. Sounds like gambling. The possibility of illness causes someone to go into a gambling/lottery type thing with their health. Do they hope they win? What is a win? Getting the insurance company to pay more for your health care than for other peoples? That would mean you were ill more. Do you hope to not use the insurance and lose that money by being healthy or gain by using more of it than you paid by being unhealthy?

“First off how you can you say everyone uses it?”
As someone who only visits holistic health care providers, I second this notion. The only time I will ever rely on mainstream medicine is if I have a health emergency and need emergency services to save my life.
Jason recently posted..Personal Injury Lawyers in Mississauga – Key Questions to Ask Them
Yes Jason, a real interesting thing, first they say they are compassionate and want everyone to be able to, afford to or have it for free, they say we need it, then they say everyone uses, then they say they must fine those who are free riders. Let’s recap again, It is practically like a right and everyone should have it for free (the initial reason in 2008), everyone needs it, everyone uses it, those who go and use it and don’t have insurance must be forced to pay….. Clearly a sign that some want something so bad that they are willing to lie and cover up this fact and say anything to get us to go along with them.
